A 22-year-old man has been arrested by the Vlora police for illegal possession of weapons. It is learned that the young man, who was under 'house arrest', was stopped in the "Pavarësia" neighborhood, while driving his 'Benz' vehicle armed.
A 36-year-old man, a passenger in the 22-year-old's car, was also arrested. He is accused of failing to report a crime. The "Zastava" firearm was seized by police as material evidence.
"Following the intensive work to crack down on cases of illegal possession of weapons and detain citizens who evade obligations to security measures imposed by the Court, the Section for Operational Support of Investigation at the Vlora Police Department, in cooperation with the Vlora Police Commissariat, based on the information provided, organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Befasia", within the framework of which the following citizens were arrested in flagrante delicto:
Sh. Z., 22 years old, resident of Selenica, for the criminal offenses of “Unlicensed Weapon Possession” and “Removing a Prisoner from the Place of Residence”.
MD, 36 years old, resident of Selenica, for the criminal offense of "Failure to report a crime".
Citizen Sh. Z., who was under the security measure "House arrest" for the criminal offense "Production and sale of narcotics", was caught in the "Pavarësia" neighborhood, Vlora, driving a "Mercedes Benz" vehicle, where citizen MD was also a passenger.
During the search of citizen Sh. Z., the Police services found and seized a firearm, a "Zastava" brand pistol, the police announced.
