Tirana's Traffic Police has increased its presence on the ground, with the aim of preventing accidents, punishing violators and managing traffic with patrols and modern vehicles, on all entrance and exit axes of the capital.
As a result, over the last week, 35 drivers have been arrested and prosecuted and 42 vehicles have been impounded.
Police Announcement:
In order to prevent accidents, punish violators and manage traffic, the Tirana Traffic Police has increased its presence on the ground, with patrols and modern vehicles, on all entrance/exit axes of the Capital.
During the last week they are:
35 drivers arrested/criminally prosecuted;
42 vehicles were blocked for various violations.
Special focus of controls:
Prevention/elimination of disturbing noises caused by modified mufflers, which violate public order and peace;
Clearing public spaces illegally occupied by vehicles/or businesses, in cooperation with the Municipal Police and IMT;
Ensuring the use of protective helmets and phosphorescent vests by motor vehicle drivers;
Punishment of drivers who drive under the influence of alcohol;
Violation of road signs;
The Traffic Police will continue to conduct checks without interruption, at all hours and on every road segment, to guarantee order, peace and safety for everyone.
