Media sources indicate that the 45-year-old was driving near the stadium when he was shot at with a Kalashnikov rifle by 3 people who got out of a vehicle parked in the area.
To escape the bullets, Sula fled by car towards his apartment, near which the police found him. The 45-year-old was found wounded in the leg and forensic doctors will determine the circumstances of this injury.
The incident occurred in one of the most frequented areas of Lushnja between the hospital and the city stadium, where random citizens miraculously escaped the burst of gunfire.
After the attack, the perpetrators fled towards the village of Lifat, where they abandoned the vehicle with Greek license plates and set it on fire. Inside the burned vehicle, police found a Kalashnikov and a pistol suspected to belong to the perpetrators, which were seized as material evidence.
The vehicle and weapon data will be analyzed in detail by the police in order to identify the perpetrators. They are also working with security camera footage in the area to discover their itinerary and data that could lead to their tracks.
Juljan Sula is a person with a criminal past, often suspected by the police of serious criminal incidents and at other times as the target of attacks.
Meanwhile, the 45-year-old has been escorted to the police station to give his testimony, while it is learned that so far he has remained silent in front of the blue uniforms, not providing any information. On the other hand, the police have also escorted 6 people to the police station in connection with the incident.
Julian Sulo, also known as Juli i Pashako, is a rival of Aldo Bare, the leader of the Lushnja gang. Sulo was also suspected of the organized assassination of Bare's nephew, Xhulio Shkurti, in 2017. Sulo was released after there was no evidence linking him to the assassination, also known as the Lushnja massacre.
For this event, Anterio Kaloshi and Orgest Bilbili were sentenced to life imprisonment, a decision upheld by the Supreme Court on November 21, 2025. In the Lushnja massacre, Zamir Latifi and Jurgen Hoxha were killed, and Bujar Turku and Marius Xhepexhiu were injured.
