The trial begins at the Special Court for Leonard Duka, considered the head of the organization called "Klani Duka", who is accused of the murder of former police officer Santiago Malko in August 2019 at "Xhamlliku" in Tirana.
This Tuesday, Muhamet Duka, the defendant's father, appeared to testify, as the trial panel decided last time after the defense's requests.
"I have friendly relations with two of the defendants, I have blood relations with some of the other defendants. I agree to testify before the court ," he said at the start of his testimony.
The witness was questioned by the lawyers regarding conflicts and relations with the victim Malko.
"I have not had a personal conflict with Santiago Malko. Leonard and Erlis Duka have not had a conflict with Santiago Malko. I do not know Ervis Martinaj. To my knowledge, my sons have not had any conflict with this citizen," he said.
Questions were also asked by the prosecutor of the file, SPAK, Behar Dibra, regarding the defendants in the case, their acquaintance with them, and Muhamet Duka answered:
"Aleksandër Maxhaku is known to me, he is my nephew from my sister. For short they call him "Leks", "Aleks", it depends. I haven't met him for 6 years, it's been a long time. I haven't been able to meet him, I don't know anything about his whereabouts. Dritan Agaj is known to me. A man known to us. One of our nieces has him as a husband. We have ours to some extent. I saw Dritan with my sons, I saw them as boys. I know Oltion Logë, I saw him as a face. I know him, I saw him in the neighborhood. We also called Oltion "Olt". I don't know which of the boys he was with. I didn't know Fatmir Doçaj, I heard him on TV later. I heard Ilir Selmani, I don't know him. I heard Blendi Teta in the media, I don't know him. I don't know who he is. I didn't have any business with him before. I was in trade, now I'm retired. I had my own bar. My bar didn't have any name. The management was handled by me and my daughter-in-law. The boys were dealing with their own affairs, their own business. They were involved in gambling. I don't know who they collaborated with. I didn't interfere, they were adults. I live with my wife. Leonardi used to live with his brother, separated from us. They lived in a rented house. I lived in 'Fresk', the boys I don't know where they lived. I never even asked them, I didn't go to their apartment. They came to my house. I helped them once, when they grew up they had their own lives", he testified.
