A serious incident has occurred in Vlora, where a Ukrainian tourist drowned on the beach. Despite efforts to save her, the tourist was unable to survive, while her daughter is intubated.
Her body will be sent to the Tirana morgue due to the fact that she is a foreign citizen.
The vacationers, a mother and daughter from Ukraine, were immediately given first aid, first by the man who pulled them out of the sea, and then by other vacationers.
"We saw him asking for help, the boy went straight in... then a whole bunch of others got in, in 10 minutes they arrived on shore. Those who knew how gave him first aid, they pressed him down and gave him breathing," says a vacationer.
According to the accounts of the citizen who risked his life to save the tourists, as well as other vacationers, the ambulance arrived at least half an hour late due to heavy traffic in the Lungomare area, where cars parked on the road often become an obstacle in the narrow lane of the promenade.
After first aid, both tourists were transported to the Vlora Regional Hospital, in serious condition. Despite the intervention of the white shirts, the mother could not survive, while the girl, about 15 years old, is still under their care.
Mother and daughter were vacationing in Vlora with other family members, who called the police to tell them what happened.
Regarding the beach left without a coast guard, sources from the Vlora Police indicate that 6 people were escorted, including Municipal Police officers, who were tasked with controlling and monitoring the beach facilities.
