A Jet Ski driver has been fined 500,000 new lek after it was found that he had violated the security perimeter in the Karaburun area, endangering the lives of vacationers.
According to the State Police announcement, the intervention was carried out immediately after reports and videos sent by citizens, which showed the vessel moving near the shore, in violation of safety rules for vacationers.
The Border Police Services of SPK Triport, in cooperation with the Maritime Police Unit, made it possible to identify and stop the Jet Ski as it was approaching the fishing pier in the territory of SPK Triport.
"It was reported to the State Police by the vacationers that they had violated the security perimeter, endangering their lives. The Border Police intervened immediately, blocking the Jet Ski and punishing the driver with an administrative measure of 500,000 new lek.
Immediately after the reports and video sent by citizens to the State Police, showing a Jet Ski-type watercraft that had entered the vicinity of the coast in the Karaburun area, violating the security perimeter and endangering the lives of vacationers, the Border Police services of SPK Triport, in cooperation with the Maritime Police Unit, made it possible to ascertain and stop the watercraft, as it was approaching the fishing pier in the territory of SPK Triport.
The Jet Ski was blocked at the blocking point for floating vehicles near SMIL, while the driver of the vehicle, an EU citizen, was punished with an administrative measure in the amount of 500,000 new lek. The State Police appeals to all drivers of floating vehicles to respect the security perimeter and implement navigation rules, in order to guarantee the safety of vacationers along the coastline," the police announced.
