A wreath of flowers (a symbol of death) has been placed on the door of the house of the parents of Emiljano Nika, director of IKMT in Shkodra.
The incident occurred in the village of Sektor in Velipoja and was reported to the police as an act of intimidation.
Nika has played a key role in the action to demolish illegal constructions in the protected area of Theth, where she has faced opposition from residents.
"On 18.07.2025, citizen EN, 44 years old, resident of Shkodra, reported that in the apartment where only his parents live, in the village of Sektor, Velipojë, on the outside of the apartment, on the railing of the gate, he found a wreath of flowers. Work is underway to clarify the circumstances of the case, identify and capture the perpetrator.
"The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Shkodra, for further action," the police announced.
Nika has been threatened before because of his job. Police are investigating to identify the perpetrators and ensure his safety.
