An unusual incident occurred in Librazhd where a 36-year-old man robbed his in-laws of a large amount of money after giving them a high dose of Valium.
Police investigations began after the couple were initially taken to Librazhd Hospital and then to the QSUT, in serious condition, suspected of intoxication.
Investigations revealed that their son-in-law, 36-year-old Ismail Kllogjri, is suspected of giving them a high dose of sedative medication, causing serious health damage, and then stealing a large amount of money from their apartment.
The couple are under the care of doctors and are out of danger.
"The police operation codenamed "Opportunity" is being finalized. The operation was carried out by the Librazhd Police Commissariat, in cooperation with the Section for the Investigation of Crimes against the Person of the Elbasan DVP, under the direction of the Elbasan Prosecution Office.
He gave the elderly couple a high dose of sedative medication (Valium) and then stole a large amount of money from their apartment; the 36-year-old man was identified and arrested.
The stolen money and a cell phone were seized.
After receiving notification that two spouses had been initially sent to Librazhd Hospital and then to the QSUT, in serious health condition and suspected of intoxication, the Librazhd Police Commissariat services immediately organized the work to clarify the circumstances of the event.
Thanks to the rapid and coordinated investigative actions, carried out in cooperation with specialists from the Section for the Investigation of Crimes against the Person at the Elbasan DVP and under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, within the framework of the "Opportunity" operation, it became possible to fully unravel the incident, as well as to identify, capture and arrest the suspected perpetrator, citizen IK, 36 years old.
The investigation revealed that the perpetrator, a family relative of the elderly couple (their son-in-law), is suspected of having administered a high dose of a sedative, suspected to be Valium, causing serious health damage, and then stole a large amount of money from their apartment. Both spouses are under the care of doctors and are out of danger.
"The stolen money and a cell phone were seized as material evidence. The procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Elbasan, for further action," the police announced.
