Two Albanians and a Greek were arrested by Greek police after a gun attack that took place in central Athens. The incident took place in the Patision area of Athens, where the perpetrators, with their faces covered with masks and wearing black hats, entered a mobile phone shop owned by a citizen of Pakistani origin.
Before the businessman could react, they shot him in both legs and then left in a vehicle where an associate was waiting for them.
A patrol of the Greek police DIAS unit was located near the scene. The officers intervened immediately: one group provided first aid to the injured, while the other group began searching the area.
A short time later, the police located the perpetrators' vehicle and began a pursuit that ended near the Kifisos axis. During the escape, the suspects threw the weapon on Nirvana Street.
Investigators believe the leg wound may have been a warning shot and not intended to physically eliminate the victim. Authorities are also investigating the possibility that the attack may be related to drug trafficking or extortion.
According to Greek media, among those arrested is a person who was involved in a serious incident in 2022 in Kifisia. At that time, he was accused of stabbing businessman Giannis Markou 16 times after a conflict in line near a sandwich shop. Hellenic Police investigations continue to identify the fourth perpetrator, as well as the motives for the armed attack in Patisia.
