The Albanian was detained by the Greek police, while the documentation against him was passed to the Ioannina Prosecutor's Office for the initiation of extradition procedures.
An Albanian wanted by Interpol Tirana has been arrested in Greece, at the Kakavija border crossing point.
The wanted person attempted to cross the customs checkpoint to enter Albania on Christmas Day, when a passport check in the system revealed that he was wanted by Interpol Tirana, as he had been sentenced to 4 months in prison by the Albanian justice system for "forgery of documents".
He was detained by the Greek police, while the documentation against him was passed to the Ioannina Prosecutor's Office for the initiation of extradition procedures.
Meanwhile, at the Kakavija border crossing point, two other Albanian citizens wanted in Greece have been arrested, the police of the neighboring country informed.
One of them was sentenced by the Athens Court to 3 years in prison for "tax evasion", while the other was wanted with an arrest warrant by the Kilkis Prosecutor's Office for "bribery".
