The Transparency Board set new ceiling prices for fuel trading in Albania. The decision was made at the next board meeting and comes into effect on the same day, at 2:00 PM.
According to the decision, the maximum retail price for SSH EN 590 standard diesel will be 183 lek per liter, while the maximum wholesale price is set at 171 lek per liter.
For SSH EN standard gasoline, the maximum retail price is set at 170 lek per liter, while the maximum wholesale price is set at 158 lek per liter.
These prices will remain in effect until the next meeting of the Transparency Board, where new developments in the international and domestic fuel markets will be reflected.

The board also published the reference price of diesel for the fishing sector, which is 88 lek per liter. This lower level is related to the fiscal exemptions that Albanian legislation provides for fishing vessels.
Referring to Law No. 9975, dated July 28, 2008 “On National Taxes”, in Article 9, point 6, fishing vessels are exempt from paying the circulation tax and the carbon tax.
Likewise, Article 10, point 3, letter “d” of Law No. 61/2012 “On Excise Duties in the Republic of Albania” provides for the exemption from excise duties of fuel used by fishing vessels, according to the quantities, conditions and criteria set out in the relevant decisions of the Council of Ministers.
As a result of these exceptions and the calculation methodology defined in the normative act, the price of diesel for fishing results in 88 lek per liter.
The Transparency Board drew the attention of all operators engaged in wholesale and retail trade of petroleum by-products to the obligation to implement the decision.
According to the official announcement, any violation found by the responsible authorities may be accompanied by administrative measures up to the suspension of the activity of the entity that does not respect the established prices.
The authorities emphasize that market monitoring will continue to guarantee the implementation of the Board's decisions.
