How are the government officials and the bribe-takers of the AKU allowing food

The leaders of the AKU do not punish or publish the names of farms, food factories, and importers that introduce "killer" products to the market, because politicians and government officials are involved in these businesses...

On July 2, 2025, Edi Rama ordered the suspension of the AKU's activity and its reform. In reality, nothing was suspended. Food crime continues and the institution has the same managers and inspectors who draft false reports against bribes. Even 40 militants have been added who were brought in as a reward for collecting votes.

Albania remains the only country in the region where it is allowed to produce and trade products filled with dangerous chemicals, with fake expiration dates and with manipulated origins. In markets and warehouses, there are fruits, vegetables, meats with salmonella, dairy products with palm oil and powder, products coming from 20-year-old refrigerators in Brazil and Serbia, but with “clean” reports from the National Food Agency.

Foreign controls have uncovered this criminal business. Peaches, peppers and tomatoes containing nickel have been blocked in Croatia and Slovenia, but in Albania they continue to be sold freely. Instead of revealing the names of the farms and companies that exported them, the AKU leaders deceived by saying that these products are not found on the market. They are in bulk, but are allowed to be consumed by Albanians.

This system works because behind it are politicians, ministers and deputies who own farms, markets and import monopolies. The leaders of the AKU are rewarded with bribes and job guarantees. Former minister Niko Peleshi allowed the massive use of the insecticide “Silicon Mix”, a poison banned in Europe. The prosecution closed the investigation. The Chairman of the Parliamentary Commission Eduard Shalsi lobbied for dairy factories to use powdered milk and palm oil up to 60% of the composition, passing it by law and government decision.

This is the reality: a food crime network operating with government blessing, where mass poisoning products receive the safety seal from the AKU. And Albanians, defenseless, pay with their health for the bribes of officials and the bargains of Babloku./ Pamphlet
