On December 15, 2025, the company "Affinity Partners", owned by US President Donald Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, announced its withdrawal from the agreement with the Government of Serbia for the project to build a luxury hotel in Belgrade.
Investor Jared Kushner has given the same withdrawal signal for the "Tourist Resort - Sazan Island" project, delaying the deadlines for launching procedures for the implementation of the contract, through a notification sent to the Albanian government.
On December 15, 2025, the same date as the cancellation of the investment agreement in Belgrade, the company "Atlantic Incubation Partners LLC", investor of the resort project in Sazan, announced the postponement of the agreement for another year.
According to information received in "Pamphlet", regarding the extension of the deadline for securing the agreement, the company "Atlantic Incubation Partners LLC", owned by Trump's son-in-law, has notified the Strategic Investment Committee, the Ministry of Economy and Innovation, the Albanian Investment Corporation and the Albanian contracting company "Albanian State Development Real Estate".
The reasons why Jared Kushner has postponed securing an agreement for the procedures for launching the resort project on Sazan Island, dragging out deadlines, are unknown.
This decision by Kushner has alarmed Prime Minister Edi Rama, not because of real concern about the investment in Sazan, but because the postponement of the agreement came after the total blockage of contacts with the White House, the refusal by Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio to meet Edi Rama at two world summits, the lack of congratulations on the victory in the May 11, 2025 elections, and the lack of any contact from the US Embassy in Tirana.
In Decision No. 23, dated December 30, 2024, of the Strategic Investment Committee, signed by Edi Rama, the following conditions were set:
- Within 15 days, i.e. on January 20, 2025, the Government Agreement Negotiation Group was to contact the investment entity "Atlantic Incubation Partners LLC" to initiate the procedures for implementing the agreement for the construction of the resort in Sazan.
- Within 60 days, i.e. on March 2, 2025, the strategic investor entity had to submit to the Albanian Investment Corporation the business plan, the full feasibility study, the explanatory report, the resort's internal infrastructure project and the guarantees offered to the Albanian State by the investor.
- Within 90 days, i.e. until March 31, 2025, the agreement had to be negotiated with the investing entity, with the possibility of an extension for another 90 days, until June 30, 2025.
But the company "Atlantic Incubation Partners LLC" did not respond to the Albanian Government's requests to begin negotiations for the resort in Sazan.
While on December 15, 2025, Trump's son-in-law's company announced the postponement of securing the deal until the end of 2026, which in the language of the contract translates as a blocking of investment and a warning that the project in Sazan could be canceled.
Jared Kushner knows the reasons, while Edi Rama is experiencing this delay as a political decision by the Trump family and President Donald Trump, not to cooperate in any way with the Prime Minister of Albania./ Pamphlet
