Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić says that Serbia could join the EU before 2030, but stressed that he will never accept Kosovo's independence.
"I believe that such chances exist. But there is another issue, the issue of Kosovo. I cannot and will not accept the independence of Kosovo," Vučić said in an interview with public broadcaster RTS.
According to him, Serbia remains politically endangered by the geopolitical situation and that the greatest danger would come from a "real war" between Europe and Russia.
"If a real war were to break out between Europe and the Russian Federation, that would be the biggest danger. We must avoid involvement in any way and must maintain our military neutrality. We will avoid any regional conflict in any way. So, we are not afraid of anyone. We are strong enough, people have had the opportunity to see this, but I do not want to participate in wars," the Serbian president stressed.
He also commented on the massive student protests that have shaken the country, saying that a hybrid war is taking place.
"We have been facing terrible violence for a year now. People have been stopped in their movements on the streets of Serbia hundreds of thousands of times. More than 25,000 unregistered criminal and illegal gatherings have been held, which, after all, we even secured and spent a huge amount of money on," Vučić said.
