Tensions in the Middle East remain high, while a US F-35A fighter jet has been seen patrolling near the Strait of Hormuz, an area considered vital for global energy transport.
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed the mission in a statement on the social network X, saying that the patrol was part of security operations in the region. According to US authorities, the F-35A aircraft has the capacity to carry up to 18,000 pounds of weapons and operate at supersonic speeds.
The development comes at a delicate moment for the region, where the ceasefire between Iran, Israel and the United States continues to be considered fragile.
At the same time, new signals have come from Tehran regarding the future of the Strait of Hormuz. A senior Iranian parliament official on national security stated that a plan for the management of this strategic sea route has been drafted and that it has been sent to parliament for review.
Although no concrete details were revealed about the content of the plan, the official stressed that Iran intends to use the Strait of Hormuz as an instrument of influence and power in the region.
The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the most sensitive points in the world for international oil trade, so any military move or political statement in this area is closely monitored by global powers and energy markets.
