US President Donald Trump has invited several executives from US technology, finance and agriculture companies to accompany him on his trip to China.
The list includes:
-Elon Musk
Musk is the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX and briefly headed Trump's Department of Government Efficiency (also known as DOGE) before leaving in May of last year.
He became embroiled in a war of words with Trump online last summer after claiming without evidence that the US government had covered up details of the president's relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.
He then reduced his online activity and public profile. Tesla has operations in China and Musk has visited the country before. Musk is currently at the center of a court battle in California with the head of OpenAI.

Apple's CEO announced last month that he would step down as head of the tech giant after 15 years in September.
Apple depends on manufacturing overseas, which meant Cook faced a difficult situation when Trump announced broad punitive tariffs last spring, prompting China to retaliate with similar measures.
He managed to minimize tariffs by shifting production of iPhones destined for the US to India.

Robert "Kelly" Ortberg became Boeing's CEO in 2024. He said last year that he did not anticipate the U.S. trade war with China would hinder Boeing's financial recovery or prevent it from meeting delivery targets with Chinese airlines.
Beijing increased the import tax on American goods to 125% in April 2025, in response to Trump's tariff increase on products made in China to 145%.
The tariffs would double the cost of Boeing passenger jets, but the company has shipped fewer planes to China over time.
