
A federal court in Washington today ordered the removal of US President Donald Trump's name from the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, because the iconic venue cannot be renamed without a decision from Congress.
Federal Judge Christopher Cooper ordered the government to remove all signs bearing Trump's name and remove his name from all official documents within 14 days.
The board of directors of the famous cultural center, which was appointed by Trump, voted unanimously last December to change the name, as announced by White House spokeswoman Caroline Levitt.
But this action has been rejected by the court, forcing institutions to immediately remove President Trump's name.
