Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, fearful of the open investigation against him, has denied allegations made by a Croatian journalist that he was involved in the so-called 'Sarajevo safari' incident, which involved snipers from Italy and other countries who allegedly traveled to the Bosnian capital to shoot unarmed civilians as a form of entertainment, including women and children, for a large sum of money during the 1990s siege.
" I have never killed or injured anyone, nor have I ever done anything similar," Vučić was quoted as saying in the media.
Croatian investigative journalist Domagoj Margetic has filed a complaint with the Milan prosecutor's office, alleging Vucic's involvement. According to the alleged evidence he possesses, Vucic, then a young volunteer, was present at one of the Serbian military posts in Sarajevo from which, according to witnesses, foreign nationals and Serbian ultranationalist units were shooting and killing civilians. Vucic described the allegations as shameful and outright lies.
