Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen stated that relations with the United States, strained after former US President Donald Trump's request to purchase Greenland, have improved, but stressed that the crisis is not over yet.
Speaking at a press conference in Nuuk, the capital of the Danish autonomous territory, Rasmussen said that “the crisis is not over and we still do not have a solution,” adding that the situation is “much better now than a few weeks ago.” He also assured that there is currently “no threat on the table” and that there is “no trade war with Europe.”
For her part, Greenland's Foreign Minister, Vivian Motzfeldt, praised the continuation of the dialogue with the United States, but stressed that the Greenlandic authorities have not yet achieved their objectives.
"We are not yet where we want to be. It will be a long road and it is too early to say where we will end up," Motzfeldt declared during a joint press conference in Nuuk, along with her counterparts from Denmark and Canada.
