Several people are believed to be behind the attack on journalist and presenter Sigfrido Ranucci. They followed him, possibly for days. They may then have positioned themselves among the trees in front of his home in Pomezia, waiting for his escort to leave, before manually lighting the fuse that detonated the device, hidden between two vases outside the house.
It is suspected that the perpetrators knew the location of the Report presenter, who had returned on Thursday after several days away. A rudimentary but powerful bomb, without timer or remote control. A kilogram of explosives that destroyed Ranucci's two cars just 20 minutes after his daughter returned home.
A potentially deadly act of intimidation, planned, and this is one of the aspects that still needs to be clarified. The Antimafia Directorate of Rome is investigating serious damage using mafia methods and no possibility is excluded. Starting with those led by the investigations announced for the new season, which starts on Sunday, October 26, as well as those already broadcast on organized crime, the extreme ends of the ultras galaxy and the clans.
"In future episodes, we will return to talk about mafia massacres and clan infiltration of public contracts," he revealed as he left the prosecutor's office on Friday.
He added that "the bomb may be a warning for some future investigations, which, however, are reminiscent of things we have done in the past."
In the context described by the presenter with the magistrates, "there are 4 or 5 important leads that, however coincidentally, always lead to the same areas", including "the world of right-wing criminal subversion".
The possibility of a pre-arranged attack has not been ruled out. The Frascati Investigation Unit has seized the two damaged cars and the RIS (Italian Special Investigation Service) is working on evidence from the device, which may contain the attackers' signatures. The device is similar in type to those used in recent incidents of intimidation by the Roman coastal criminal community.
For this reason, investigators are focusing on the connection between far-right circles, ultra extremist groups and local criminals. The coastal resorts in that area have also been the subject of investigations by Report. But they are also investigating Albanian criminal circles, in 2024, the program covered the deals of immigrants in Albania, which are often linked to the ultras.

Pajisja, në fakt, nuk kishte as kohëmatës dhe as telekomandë, dhe shpërthimi nuk ishte i vetmi: pati një shpërthim tjetër në zonë më 27 shtator dhe një tjetër më 4 tetor.
Sidoqoftë, për momentin, nuk ka pasur asnjë pretendim për përgjegjësi, kërcënim apo lidhje të drejtpërdrejtë me aktivitetin gazetaresk të Ranuccit, vetëm spekulime politike pak a shumë të imagjinuara.
Vetë prezantuesi, në një përpjekje për të shpjeguar motivin, renditi hetimet e ardhshme të Report që mund të kishin çuar në sulm: "kultura, arsimi, energjia e erës, bankat, kujdesi shëndetësor".
Pasditen e vonë të së premtes, ai shtoi "Piersanti, Mattarella, Moro, e djathta subversive", ndërsa Repubblica shtoi gjithashtu "bandat dhe ultrasit shqiptarë", për të mos përmendur spekulime të tjera të hapura gazetareske.
Për më tepër, në Romë ekziston një dosje që përmban rreth 30 kërcënime drejtuar Ranuccit nga viti 2021 deri më sot, të përbëra nga letra, email-e dhe postime në mediat sociale: në nëntor 2024, pas një artikulli të Report mbi Gazën, u shfaq një dëshirë që Ranucci të vuante të njëjtin fat si Charlie Hebdo; një vit më parë, dy plumba ishin lënë jashtë portës së shtëpisë së tij; pastaj, dhe ndoshta më interesante, pas një hetimi mbi një bandë shqiptare që vepronte në sektorin e imigracionit, prokurorët morën një telefonatë që pretendonte një "dosje" kundër Ranuccit.
Kriminelët shqiptarë kontrollojnë me të vërtetë një pjesë të vijës bregdetare romake, dhe midis qershorit dhe gushtit 2024, ka pasur tashmë katër sulme në palestra, bare dhe shtëpi, me metoda shumë të ngjashme me shpërthimin jashtë shtëpisë së Ranuccit.
Not to mention, and this is no small feat, the crackdown on drugs. June 2024: a bomb explodes under a security guard's car. In Pomezia and Ardea, at the end of January, police seized weapons and 150 high-powered fireworks, plus single-shot batteries and homemade "onions". In June, another homemade bomb destroys the "Di Napoli" gym without causing casualties: the Antimafia Directorate (DDA) also investigated there. All the incidents took place along the same strip.
Among the countless hypotheses is that the attack had nothing to do with the journalist or the Report.
