Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated that Russia remains committed to the agreements reached between President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump during the summit held in Alaska last year.
According to Lavrov, these agreements are related to political ways to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. Russian officials often refer to the so-called "Anchor Spirit", which analysts interpret as a possible scenario for reaching an agreement that would end the war.
Under this interpretation, Ukrainian forces would withdraw from parts of the Donbas region still under their control, while Russia would raise the current front line in other areas. However, Ukrainian authorities have repeatedly stated that they will not accept territorial concessions to Russia.
"Last August, the leaders of Russia and the United States reached a number of agreements regarding political ways to resolve the Ukrainian crisis. We remain committed to these agreements," Lavrov said.
