Democrats are trying to keep the focus on the Epstein files and potentially damaging revelations about the US president.
In a new post on social media, they highlight an email from 2017 in which Jeffrey Epstein wrote: " I've met some very bad people, none as bad as Trump. Not a good cell in his body... so yes, dangerous ."
Despite resisting a vote on the Epstein files for some time, Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson has defended his approach as in favor of "maximum transparency."
The Speaker of the House, who is responsible for tabling votes in the lower house, said he was realistically opposed to the "reckless disregard" of victims in the Democrats' approach.
A vote has now been forced through an impeachment petition by House Democrats, which bypasses Johnson's authority.
He said "more information will come" about Epstein, with a vote set for next week on the release of all unclassified files.
