A German citizen, 56, was arrested on Saturday (June 6th) in Chania, Crete, on suspicion of espionage.
According to the Greek portal Creta24.gr, the 56-year-old is suspected of photographing military aircraft. During the search of his professional camera, authorities found material that included footage of the military airport installations in Akrotiri, Chania.
The arrest was carried out by the police of Chania Airport "Ioannis Daskalogiannis". After the arrest, the suspect was brought before the Greek justice system.
Authorities seized the camera, while investigations into the case continue.
