Fire in Gramsh, residents frustrated: The state reacted late, the flames could

Residents of the Gramsh area, where the flames caused the first victim, while around 8 citizens suffocated, accuse the state of a delayed and disproportionate response in line with the dangerous nature of the situation.

The fires spread rapidly in rural areas of the Gramsh Municipality, burning homes and livestock.

Residents of the affected area told Report TV that they were forced to leave after the flames got out of control.

"Shkrumb with the apartment, with the cow, everything. The fire burned our legs. We left as we were. We left as we were at home. What do we have the state for, what do we love the state for? The state had the opportunity to put it out, there is indeed fire in all the districts, but the state needs to become a little more alive. We call him, he turns off the phone. At 09:00 a fire truck arrived. A fire truck came in the morning, when it returned that the fire came to us. Long live that village bus that came and picked us up. We were burned like rats, our belongings were burned, our houses were burned. As if there were no state."

"If the police had let us, we would have defended our house. My brother's house burned down. 3-4 houses burned down."

"It was a very big fire. We stayed until the end, we almost got burned too. The houses around us were burned. The police came, we refused to leave. They took us by force, we didn't leave."
