Operation "Halabak"!

Operation "Halabak"!
The young man who prayed to the socialists

How fragile must a government be that takes so much joy in such a video?

After 49 days of protest, the government finally found the proof it was waiting for. Not about corruption, not about the economy. Not about the departure of Albanians or the unstoppable strengthening of the lek. Not about 135 thousand fewer students in the last ten years and not about 300 fewer schools. It did not find a single foreign strategic investor who would have brought the law on strategic investors, just as it did not find any Iranian, Greek, Serbian or Russian among the protesters. It found a halabak with a microphone.

The enthusiasm is extraordinary. Ministers, MPs, directors, advisors, court analysts and the entire propaganda brigade jumped on the attack. The video was shared with a speed that has not been seen either when the decisions of the Council of Ministers are published or when the leader says “Good morning” from the coast of Vlora, or for the 100 million dollars that were earned from the Kanye West concert. The enthusiasm is such that it seems as if they have caught the financier of the protest, while in fact they had found a man who is paid with soufflés.

How fragile must a government be that takes so much joy in such a video?

The logic is completely reborn. When a minister is involved in a scandal, they explain to us that the responsibility is personal. When a mayor is accused of corruption, it's personal again. When another affair comes up, it's personal again. Don't you dare judge the government by one individual.

But as soon as a stranger, who most likely came there after eating soufflé, grabs the microphone at the protest, a miracle happens: responsibility becomes collective. For the government, he speaks on behalf of thousands of citizens. One halabak is enough to represent an entire protest. Even more so when his speech resembles that of members of Parliament, when they mention each other's mothers and sisters.

Even more comical is the behavior of the ministers. People who run institutions with budgets of millions of euros, who must account for health, education, the economy and security, spend their days reposting a video of a commotion. This is the reborn level of government debate.

If this is the government's greatest achievement after all these weeks of protests, then the protest has no reason to worry. On the contrary. It is the government itself that is admitting great despair in the face of the citizens' revolt.

Because when you have the government, the administration, the money, the televisions, and the entire propaganda machinery in your hands, but your greatest pride is a slob with a microphone, then you have admitted to yourself that you have run out of arguments and have become reduced to crying foul.
