A call center fraud scheme with suspected damages of around 50 million euros has been busted in Tirana, with 9 people arrested and 80 operators questioned.
In another case, the Tirana Prosecution Office has partially closed the file of the former mayor of Rrogozhina, Elvis Roshi, while the GJKKO has sentenced the former mayor of Finiqi to 4 years in prison for abuse of office.
In serious criminal incidents, a perpetrator has been sentenced to life imprisonment for murder with a hammer, while in Vlora three people were arrested after raping and threatening a 35-year-old man with a gun.
A scheme to steal 40,000 pounds from a supermarket has also been uncovered in Tirana.
In the international arena, a drug trafficking group has been busted in Italy with 28 arrests in Operation "Daku", while in Belgium several Albanian citizens are being tried for a series of robberies.
Also, a 20-year-old Albanian man was executed in Sweden in an event related to drug gangs.
