Which is very dangerous for young children aged 0-3 months, which causes bronchiolitis, the closure of the respiratory tract due to infection," said the head of Infectious Diseases in Pediatrics, Xhorxhina Kuli, for "Abc News".
Vaccination plays a very important role in preventing the respiratory syncytial virus, or RSV, especially for children born prematurely, as they are at higher risk of being infected.
Infectious disease doctors and those from the Institute of Public Health, but not only, have proposed the introduction of the RSV vaccine into the mandatory vaccination calendar, as well as the vaccination of pregnant mothers.
"We are trying with the vaccine committee, with the IHP, with the pediatricians' committee to raise awareness about vaccinating young babies, especially those at risk. More predisposed to contracting such an infection."
