A strong explosion shook the city of Lezha on the evening of April 5, around 11:00 PM, in the "Besëlidhja" neighborhood, causing panic among residents and considerable material damage.
The explosion occurred inside a bakery, owned by citizen KM, while the noise was heard over a wide area of the city.
According to official information from the Police, it is suspected that the cause of the explosion was a gas cylinder inside the business premises. As a result, the premises suffered extensive damage, while two adjacent businesses were also affected. The force of the explosion broke the windows of three vehicles parked nearby and also caused damage to the facades of surrounding buildings.
"Around 23:00, on 05.04.2026, in the city of Lezha, inside a business (local bakery), owned by citizen KM, it is suspected that a gas cylinder exploded.
"As a result, material damage was caused to the premises, the windows of vehicles parked nearby were damaged, and external damage was found in adjacent businesses ," the police statement said.
