A restaurant in Lezha is engulfed in flames, residents of the area are evacuated

A bar in the city of Lezha was engulfed in flames this afternoon.

Police and firefighters evacuated residents of nearby homes who were at risk from the fire. Traffic was also diverted due to the danger.

Fortunately, no one was injured, but there was only material damage.

"Around 12:45, in the village of Markatomaj, a fire broke out in the premises owned by citizen ZB.

Police and Fire Department services immediately went to the scene, set up a security perimeter, evacuated residents of surrounding homes and managed to completely extinguish the flames. Due to the danger, vehicle traffic was diverted to the old road.

"The fire caused only material damage," the police announced.
