Today marks the 29th consecutive protest against Prime Minister Edi Rama. In the form of a revolution dubbed the "flamingo", citizens have been demanding Rama's removal as Prime Minister for almost a month, while their reaction is also a revolt against the political class as a whole, which is considered responsible for the state of the country.
One of the initiators of the protest, Ilir Xhemalaj, in an interview with News24, said that the protest will not stop.
He said that the protests will continue every day, while the diplomatic corps accredited in Tirana is informed about the 5 points submitted a few days ago by the protesters.
"We are interested in raising the voice of the Albanian people as high as possible in all diplomatic institutions. Tomorrow a group of MEPs, mainly from the green parties, will come. Our strength is that square and we will not let them leave that square."
"This protest should not escalate into violence and this has caused the prime minister to lay down his weapons. He came to power from a protest where we had four people killed," he said.
