An investigation into gambling in the city of Berat has revealed that a former secret service official possessed classified data, which he copied, but is prohibited from keeping off duty.
The classified data that the prosecutor in the case has grouped as "minitims" is data on vehicles and the civil registry system from 2008. For this reason, in addition to the charge of illegal possession of ammunition, Aleksandër Shulla has also been charged in court with the crime of trading in state secrets by a person trusted by the authorities.
The file that TCH has mentions that during a routine check, the former director of SHISH was found to have a USB with materials that are in violation of the security rules for classified information, when he was not performing his duties as an employee of SHISH, which constitutes a violation of classified information.
The identified state secret materials are further added to the file, are prohibited from being copied or multiplied, and are classified "secret" since they are administered at SHISH in a single copy.
As results from the investigation and examination of the USB on March 4, 2025, in the "check" folder, in addition to the basic civil status register of 2008, in another folder, mini-data were also found, categorized as data for the criminal police of October 2008 and the Department of Investigation against Serious Crimes and a database for vehicles.
This case has been submitted to court and the defendant is the son of the former director of SHISH, Pandeli Shulla, accused of gambling after 6 computers used for online gaming were seized in 2023.
From the examinations carried out in the file, prosecutor Eni Culla lists the investigative actions, including phone conversations about organizing games, such as a conversation where the young man says: We need a little corruption in the family./ TCH
