The 26th citizen protest was accompanied by numerous banners, where citizens expressed through irony, criticism and direct appeals their dissatisfaction with the government and Prime Minister Edi Rama.
One of the most commented banners carried the inscription: "You told us: 'There is no alternative'. We are telling you: No more patience!", referring to citizens' disappointment with the political situation in the country.
Another banner mocked the change in the prime minister's profile picture on social media, where he had placed flamingos, a symbol of the protests. It read: "We talk about troubles. Rama posts flamingos. Reality is not hidden with postcards."
Among the messages were banners criticizing the European integration process. One of them read: "You can't go to Europe with a thief!", while another wrote: "Oh Rama, you can't go to Europe behaving like Putin, Xi and Erdoğan."
Protesters also held banners linking the protest to controversial issues of recent months. One read: "The image of Albania is not ruined by the people, but by the greedy who exploit it!", while another compared different situations through photos and messages critical of the government.
Among the crowd were also seen banners directly against the prime minister, including calls for his resignation and other protest slogans, accompanied by national flags.
After the citizens' speeches in front of the Prime Minister's Office and the reading of the protest demands, the participants will begin the march on some of the main streets of Tirana. With banners and red and black flags in their hands, they will continue the protest peacefully, repeating the calls for the resignation of the Prime Minister, political change and the fulfillment of the demands presented for more than three weeks.
