The former chief inspector of the Durrës IMT has been arrested after building several holiday homes in the village of Shetaj, Ishmi, without permission eight years ago.
Official sources from the local police confirmed the arrest of the 55-year-old man with the initials AH, from Tirana, and explained that the criminal offense was committed while he was on duty.
"Economic and Financial Crime Investigation Specialists arrested citizen AH, 55 years old, resident of Tirana, on suspicion that in 2017, when he was on duty as chief inspector of IMT Durrës, he built several buildings (holiday homes) without permission in the village of Shetaj, Ishëm," the local police announced.
The Durrës Prosecutor's Office, which is pursuing investigations into the case against the former local official, was also notified of his detention.
