The Trump administration will seek the death penalty in murder cases in Washington.
This was stated by US President Donald Trump at a cabinet meeting.
"Anyone who kills in the capital, everyone is calling for the death penalty, the death penalty. If someone kills someone in the capital, in Washington, we will call for the death penalty. And that is a very strong deterrent, and everyone who has heard it agrees with it. I don't know if we are ready for that in this country...we have no other choice."
Meanwhile, the White House leader called on Harvard University to pay a $500 million settlement to end the lawsuits and restore federal funding, saying the elite university had been "very bad."
"We want nothing less than $500 million from Harvard. Don't negotiate, Linda,"
Harvard is one of the Trump administration's biggest targets, and a bipartisan agreement has so far proven impossible.
