Renowned actor Mehdi Malkaj delivered one of the strongest speeches at the 28th day of the protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office, accusing Prime Minister Edi Rama of destroying the country and demanding his arrest.
In his speech, Malkaj focused on the arrest of several protesters, asking why, according to him, citizens and not the prime minister are brought to justice.
" I heard that some of the protest boys have been arrested. When we are equal before the law, why don't they put this masker in jail? Why don't they put this guy in there to rot? ", the actor said.
Malkaj also used harsh tones towards the prime minister, saying that Edi Rama's very name "pollutes the Albanian language."
" My predecessors enriched the Albanian language, because Edi Rama, that scoundrel, the filth, the stench... because his name makes our language dirty ," he declared.
The actor also accused Rama of "selling out Albania," citing the sea, Vlora, Lezha, and Butrint as examples.
" He took away 12 miles of sea, Vlora, Lezha, Butrint, we no longer have them, he sold them. We must see all the things and love our homeland. There is nothing more beautiful than Albania ," said Mehdi Malkaj.
The actor's speech was met with applause from the protesters gathered in front of the Prime Minister's Office, while chants against the government continued throughout the rally.
