Former police chief, Krenar Ahmeti, spoke today to protesters gathered in front of the Prime Minister's Office, in the 28th national protest.
From the tribune set up on the boulevard, Ahmeti called on citizens to continue their resistance and not leave the square, linking the protest to the future of Albanian children.
"From Vermoshi to Konispol, we must not abandon the front. We are here for our children. We are here for their future. We need a little more. Be patient! We must not abandon the front, people. On July 4, we will be here again until Rama resigns!", declared Ahmeti.
He announced that the next protest will be held on July 4, a date that he said will mark another important moment in the civic movement.
At the end of his speech, Ahmeti asked citizens to bring as many American flags as possible to future protests, emphasizing that Albania must show its pro-US and pro-European orientation.
"I have only one prayer! As many American flags as possible! God bless America. We are a state of that nation, we must show that we love the US, we love Europe. Believe me, America is with us! Advanced Europe is with us! Men, don't leave the front!", said Ahmeti.
