On Sunday evening, the city of Elbasan, which had been quiet for a long time due to sensational criminal events, was shaken by an assassination attempt. Businessman Edmond Mëhalla was executed with three pistol bullets (two in the head and one in the chest) in the parking lot of his gas station.
Meanwhile, on Monday morning, December 1, the vehicle was found burned in the village of Mirakë in Librazhd. It was later revealed that the vehicle was owned by the victim herself, a detail that raised questions among the investigation team about the circumstances and dynamics of the incident.
Journalist Besar Bajraktaraj shared details about yesterday's assassination on the "Opinion" show on TV Klan. He added that the victim's family members claim that the car has been sold, but there is no notarial deed for this yet. The journalist added that this is the first time that the perpetrators have used a person's vehicle to carry out his execution.
Besar Bajraktaraj: He was found murdered near his office, which is located at the gas station where the execution took place. The killers guarded him, followed him, and spotted the exact moment he left his office and entered the Range Rover vehicle, where they shot him with a Beretta pistol. Shots were heard. He was shot with six bullets, five of which hit the victim, two in the head and three in the ribs, which were fatal.

Besar Bajraktaraj : He arrived immediately, an attempt was made to give him first aid, but the bullets proved fatal.
Blendi Fevziu: Where exactly was the scene of the incident?
Besar Bajraktaraj: The scene of the crime was about 15 kilometers from the place where the crime occurred. The crime scene occurred at the exit of the city of Elbasan, on the southern ring road, just outside the city in the direction of Librazhd. The perpetrators left immediately and there are questions about their hiding or whereabouts, because it is a distance of about 15-20 minutes away and they burned the vehicle during the early hours of this morning. The vehicle remained hidden throughout the night and was burned this morning, when the police were alerted. There is also another vehicle that has been spotted in the city of Durrës, at least so far it does not appear to be a vehicle implicated in the murder. However, developments have taken on another dimension, of another person in the city of Lezha who used the perpetrators' vehicle.

Besar Bajraktaraj : He used it while driving on Rruga e Kombit during the last few days and made a payment on the Rruga e Kombit toll booth. However, this is the first time, this murder, where the perpetrators use a vehicle that is owned by the victim. It is very strange. The family members have claims that the vehicle was sold to other people, but there is no notarial deed that has been completed, there are no people identified by the police to whom the vehicle was sold.
Besar Bajraktaraj: Who did he sell it to?
Besar Bajraktaraj: It's a mystery. It was sold to one person and the vehicle passed through several hands.
Blendi Fevziu: This is a fatal coincidence.
Besar Bajraktaraj: Perhaps it is also the fault of the perpetrators who have this particular vehicle and the license plates turned out to be stolen in the city of Durrës. A citizen from Lezha who used the vehicle is currently being questioned, he denies involvement in the incident. The vehicle does not appear to have been rented.
On the other hand, the journalist adds that Edmon Mehalla was not an unheard of name for the police, as he had been arrested earlier for illegal possession of weapons, and part of a criminal group for drug trafficking not only in Albania, but also in Italy.

Besar Bajraktaraj: He has a criminal record mainly in the field of narcotics, not only in Albania, but also in Italy. He is suspected of being part of a narcotics trafficking organization. He has been previously arrested for illegal possession of weapons. There was also an episode where it is suspected that when the police went to his apartment, he threw the narcotics in the toilet, but the police found no evidence to accuse him of this activity.
