SPAK has secured the full testimonies of the two arrested individuals in connection with what is known as the "Frakulla Laboratory" file, thus hoping to fully uncover the entire cocaine network operating in Albania.
More specifically, it concerns the cocaine laboratory that was discovered in Frakull, Fier, at the end of 2022, in which cocaine was separated from the chemical fertilizer with which it was camouflaged, in order to pass undetected.
At that time, the operation uncovered over 480 kg of cocaine, camouflaged in over 400 bags of chemical fertilizer, while the process of separating the drug from the chemical fertilizer was carried out by a Colombian citizen, specialized in such a chemical process.
Reports indicate that the two SPAK suspects are an Albanian and a foreign national, arrested in connection with this case. They have given their testimonies, which are being verified step by step by SPAK, to see whether the evidence matches the circumstances or not.
Referring to the data that BKH investigators and SPAK prosecutors have discovered about the two convicts, the possibility of another operation that could lead to the arrest of other characters, unknown to date, who may be part of the drug network cannot be ruled out.
The former mayor of the municipality, Viktor Cervanaki, his brother and son were also part of the Frakulla criminal group.
According to reports at the time, the Colombian who managed to escape the operation was Zamir Rodriguez, who is suspected of being the expert chemist who separated the cocaine from the chemical fertilizer.
The police lost track of the Colombian in Vora and from that moment on he remained on the wanted list.
From the SPAK operation conducted over three years ago, 10 people were arrested. Referring to SPAK investigations, Nikolin Gjolena, known as Niko Lushnjari, is considered the key person in the cocaine trafficking from Colombia to Frakull e madhe in Fier.
The drug laboratory in Fier was discovered on the afternoon of November 24, 2022, where 485.5 kg of cocaine was also seized, which if released on the market would cost 40 million euros.
The laboratory was discovered through an operation by the American DEA in cooperation with SPAK and the Montenegrin police. The drugs were hidden in a shipment of chemical fertilizer ordered by the brother of the former mayor of Frakulla, Viktor Çervanaku. The drugs left Colombia in May and arrived in Albania by truck from Montenegro in September. At that time, Zenel Çervenaku was arrested along with 9 others, accused of "structured criminal group", while 1 other is wanted. Viktor Çervenaku, Zenel Çervenaku, Denilson Çervinaku, Enxhi Ferhati, Nikolin Gjolena, Klajdi Vrioni, Julian Malaj, Redion Meshi, Bledar Matoshi, Marildo Rona were arrested for the cocaine laboratory. All of these people have been sentenced by the GJKKO to several years in prison, while SPAK has also conducted a property investigation against them.
About two months ago, SPAK announced 5 more arrest measures approved by the GJKKO, "arrest with prison", of which 3 were executed and 2 people were declared wanted, within the framework of the Frakulla laboratory investigations. The latest accused are Kevin (Arjan) Margjoni, Durim Keçi, Klevent Gjolena, Aldi Zonja and Musa Gjikola. The first two, Margjoni and Keçi, have been declared wanted, while the others are detained. SPAK said that the fifth are accused of another trafficking episode within the framework of a criminal organization with 15 people, 10 of whom were previously convicted by the GJKKO.
