The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, has arrived from the detention center in Durrës at the Administrative Court, where the next hearing for his lawsuit, in which he seeks to declare the decree that appointed Ols Dadon as prosecutor invalid, is expected to take place.
Veliaj is present in person in the courtroom, while his defense attorney, Plarent Ndreca, is absent. The latter has requested a postponement of the hearing, arguing that his child is sick and hospitalized.
In the previous session, the Court decided to postpone the consideration of the case to give the parties time to familiarize themselves with the request of the "National Association of Media and Justice", which has requested to be included as a party in the process.
The association has filed a request with the Administrative Court to declare the decree by which Ols Dado was appointed prosecutor in 2008 invalid.
According to its representatives, the issue represents broad public interest, as it relates to the integrity of the justice system, one of the main objectives of this organization's activity.
