Erling Haaland has joined Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe at the top of the standings for the Golden Boot award at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
For three days in a row, French forward Kylian Mbappe and Argentine legend Lionel Messi have shared the top spot in the tournament's top scorer rankings, with seven goals each. However, Erling Haaland's brace in Norway's round of 16 win over Brazil saw him join the two rivals on seven goals on Sunday.
As the World Cup knockout stages began, Messi became the first player to reach seven goals as Argentina beat Cape Verde on Friday. A day later, Mbappe equalled his record as France beat Paraguay.
