The hearing scheduled for the announcement of the Special Prosecution Office's (SPAK) claim against Fatime Kryemadhi, Piro Xhixha and Ema Çoku has taken a different turn at the Special Court Against Corruption and Organized Crime.
During the hearing, Fatime Kryemadhi, the mother of MP Monika Kryemadhi, stated that she does not want to benefit from the summary trial, objecting to the accusations brought against her.
"I don't want a summary trial. I didn't commit money laundering," she told the jury.
After this statement, the court withdrew to consider the defendant's request regarding the trial procedure.
Meanwhile, the trial panel has rejected the request for a declaration of incompetence and the transfer of the case for review to the Court of Tirana, deciding that the file will continue to be reviewed under the jurisdiction of the GJKKO.
In this trial, in addition to Fatime Kryemadhi, Piro Xhixho and Ema Çoku are also defendants, while SPAK is expected to present its claim after procedural developments in the hearing.
