Martin Can's family statement in protest: Our son's name is being used

The family of the late Martin Cani conveyed a message during the 48th protest held in front of the Prime Minister's Office, expressing indignation at the way in which, according to them, their son's name is being used for political propaganda, while institutional responsibility remains unaddressed.

The statement was read during the rally, where the family argued that the reality is different from what, according to them, is being presented by the government.

" Children continue to be killed and institutions continue to fail. The tragedies are not stopping. The murders of minors have not stopped after the closure of TikTok. Social networks are not the cause of the murder of young people, but the lack of education, responsibility and institutional failure ," the statement said.

The Cani family also questioned the measures proposed by the government to increase security in schools, arguing that installing cameras is not a solution to preventing tragic events.

" The cameras did not save Martin and will not save other children. Why has he not apologized for the failure of the system he runs? Why has he not met with us? We have only seen the use of our tragedy ," the statement further states.

In its message, the family also raised concerns about the lack of a medical device at the Trauma Hospital, claiming that it has not yet been purchased, despite its low cost compared to other public expenditures.

DECLARATION

The Cani family expresses deep indignation at how Rama uses the name of our late son for propaganda, avoiding the responsibility of institutions. The reality is completely different, children continue to be killed and institutions fail. The tragedies are not stopping. The murders of minors are not stopping after the closure of Tik-Tok. Social networks are not the cause of the murder of young people, but the lack of education, of institutional accountability. Placing cameras in schools does not solve the problem.

The Prime Minister talked about smart cities in schools and the installation of cameras, saying that the algorithm does what the masses say. The cameras saved Martin and other children. Why hasn't he apologized for the failure of that system he runs? Why hasn't he met with us? We've only seen the use of our tragedy. Why wasn't the device to damage the heart purchased at the Trauma hospital. This device costs less than a government car, but it hasn't been purchased yet.

Cameras don't save lives! Why didn't Rama react when Minister Manastirliu or Balluku laughed in Parliament? Why didn't he intervene? Was that respect? The police did their job, the crime weapon was found by a citizen. The investigation would not have been thorough. This is evidence of the failure of the law enforcement structures.
