The acting head of SPAK, Altin Dumani, held a meeting today with students of the "Aleksandër Moisiu" University in Durrës.
Dumani said that corruption is a scourge that affects all institutions and emphasized that his colleagues have also been held accountable, regardless of social relations.
He stated that over 70 police officers have been investigated for corruption and other criminal offenses, including senior officials who have been found guilty of being part of criminal organizations.
Dumani added that such cases have also been identified in the judiciary, mentioning a judge investigated for participation in a criminal organization, but assessed that the majority of police officers are dedicated professionals who deserve respect.
Duman's 3-year mandate ends on December 18, when Klodian Braho will take over the leadership of SPAK.
"Corruption is a plague that affects all institutions. I would start with the Prosecution. Unfortunately, we have had to hold our colleagues accountable, and we may even have had social relationships. But we have fulfilled our duty. To come to the police. In so many years of SPAK, the number of police officers investigated for corruption and other criminal offenses is over 70. In these years, the number of police officers investigated for corruption or other criminal offenses is over 70. Unfortunately, in our investigations we have found senior police officials who have even pleaded guilty as part of criminal organizations or structured criminal groups. They are not only from the police, but also from the judiciary. We have one case where a judge was also attributed a criminal offense as participation in a criminal organization. But the State Police, despite this part that has resulted in us being implicated in criminal offenses, the police in absolute measure are boys and girls who are dedicated to their work and deserve respect", he said Smoke.
