Journalist Ardit Rada commented on the 35th anniversary of the student movement that overthrew the communist regime. He said that even today many questions remain about who organized the movement, and the main suspicions fall on the role of Sali Berisha.
Rada added that the latter is as present in politics as Enver Hoxha was and has even followed the latter's model in terms of collaborators.
"The student movement still remains a mystery as to who organized it and how it was led. We all know that students in Tirana came from families of communists, but today this may seem unimportant. What December 8, 1990 produced is what the DP is experiencing today. If we refer to the DP's rhetoric that until 1947 the Yugoslavs ruled here and that Enver Hoxha died mentally in 1982, it is clear that Sali Berisha has been in politics as long as Enver, 35 years. He even has the same historical fate. Look today, is there any co-founder of the movement or the DP on his side?", Rada said on ABCnews.
Commenting on Ervin Salianj's recent moves, Rada added to "Ora e fundit" that his platform is not made for the leader of the DP.
"I said it in an article a few days ago and the presence of Salianji today at Berisha's rally reinforces the article. Salianji is not making a speech to take Sali Berisha's place, because that is a place that cannot be taken by force or by votes. Salianji, as a former prisoner and found without a serious post in the DP, is doing everything for the second place in the blue headquarters. For the place of Gazment Bardhi or someone else, this remains to be seen. His goal is to show Berisha his strength on the ground and to raise the bar," said the journalist.
Asked about the People's Advocate race, he said that the DP is making fun of the candidates and the process.
"Now this talk that we gave you the signatures, but we will withdraw them is like that song "I loved you and I was wrong". This behavior does not honor the DP because it shows a lack of values and a lack of respect for institutions. Even the candidates it has proposed so far are full of precedents. Someone is under investigation for illegal construction, another for forging diplomas. Another is accused of being a collaborator of the State Security. This last candidate that was proposed turned out to have her husband in prison for forging properties. Is it so impossible for the DP to find a candidate who is truly of the people and not of Berisha? Let's not count the mockery it has made of this race for three years, where sometimes it proposes Braho, sometimes Ndregjoni, then it does not go to the vote" , said Rada.
