Albania has been facing a high number of fires since June. Over the last 24 hours, 18 fires have been reported, of which 2 are active and 2 are under monitoring.
Currently, the foci remain active: In the place called "Lake of Flowers", part of the Lura National Park, in a forest area with pine trees and meadows.
In the village of Zambish, Lekaj administrative unit, Rrogozhina municipality, a fire broke out in an area of oak trees.
On the border between the villages of Skuraj and Gallatë, Milot administrative unit, an area of about 23 ha has been burned.
In the village of Tarazh, Rrëshen administrative unit, a fire broke out in a private house. As a result, the kitchen and living room of the house were burned down. The cause of the fire is still unknown.
In a place called "Mal Plak", part of the municipality of Librazhd, a fire has broken out in a forest area.
26 firefighting vehicles and 268 operational forces are engaged in extinguishing the fires, while 60 personnel and 2 helicopters from the Armed Forces are involved.
During Sunday, the highest risk of forest fires is in the regions of Lezhë, Tirana, Elbasan, Fier and Berat.
The National Civil Protection Agency calls on citizens to avoid any action that could cause a fire, as the slightest carelessness can have serious consequences for the environment, property and people's lives.
