Vedat Muriqi is enjoying one of the best seasons of his La Liga career. The Kosovo forward scored two goals at the weekend, contributing to Mallorca's convincing 3-0 win over Rayo Vallecano.
With these achievements, Muriqi brings the number of goals scored this season in the Spanish football elite to 21, confirming his high form and importance in the Mallorca team.
The latest brace also gave him the opportunity to make history with the club. Muriqi has now scored 55 goals in La Liga with Mallorca, leaving behind one of the biggest names to have worn the shirt, Samuel Eto'o, who had registered 54 goals.
However, the Dardanian striker's goals do not stop there. The next goal remains the record set by Dani Guiza in the 2007-2008 season, when the Spaniard scored 27 goals and was declared the championship's top scorer, leaving behind well-known names such as Luis Fabiano and Sergio Agüero.
Currently, Muriqi has seven more matches available to attempt to break this historic record and further strengthen his position in Mallorca's history.
