Lionel Messi has decided on his future. And it won't be a "romantic ending" as everyone thought. The 38-year-old Argentine star has today formalized his renewal with Inter Miami, ending the dreams of his compatriots to see him in one of the Argentine clubs at the end of his career.
Inter Miami announced that the Argentine had signed a contract extension with the MLS club until 2028, when he is expected to end the career that made him a legend in world football. A significant economic blow to the image of MLS, which has grown significantly since the arrival of Messi, but also for the club led by David Beckham, which aims to become the main force in this country.
The renewal also puts to rest any doubts that Messi might miss the 2026 World Cup, after he had signaled that he would not continue with his country if he was not feeling well physically. But the deal he has signed with Inter Miami makes it clear that he is far from the end of his career, so his presence with Argentina will be assured.
