Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are set to undergo a radical change in the squad after their 3-0 defeat to Chelsea in the Club World Cup final. According to the latest sources, the Parisian club has decided to put 11 players on sale to restructure the team and finance new acquisitions, with the aim of returning to the top of European and world football.
Among the names rumored to be leaving are stars like Gianluigi Donnarumma, the Italian goalkeeper who has been the focus of criticism for his performance, as well as other high-profile players like Milan Skriniar, Marco Asensio, Lee Kang-in, Randal Kolo Muani, Carlos Soler, and Gonçalo Ramos. These players are reportedly no longer considered irreplaceable by coach Luis Enrique and the club's board.
The decision comes after a successful season but a disappointing final, where PSG were dominated by Chelsea, with Cole Palmer shining for the Blues. The French club are also planning a record €250m bid for Palmer, showing big ambitions for the upcoming transfer window.
PSG aim to use the funds from the sale of these players to strengthen the squad and build a more competitive team for the new season. Negotiations are expected to begin soon, with clubs such as Galatasaray and other European teams already showing interest in some of the players on the list.
