In the match against Austria, where he scored two goals, Messi climbed to the top of the list of the best scorers in the history of the World Cup. He first left behind Brazilian Ronaldo Nazario and then German Miroslav Klose, taking first place in this prestigious ranking.
Messi's new record was also commented on by Ronaldo himself, otherwise known as "The Phenomenon", who did not spare praise for the Argentine star.
