Marota complained about the penalty, Conte does not hold back after the triumph

Antonio Conte enjoys another great evening at the "Maradona". The victory over Inter, combined with a return to the top of the standings, comes at the end of a tense match, where there were also verbal clashes between themselves and with his former player, Lautaro Martinez.

" Something left hanging? In these matches it can happen. I want to remember my two years at Inter, we brought a title after 10 years, taking it from Juventus after a 9-year cycle. And you know very well what Juventus represents for me ," said Conte after the match. " I have beautiful memories. Lautaro is a great player, but maybe from a human point of view I didn't have the chance to know him well. I wish him good luck, and that's it ."

The victory over the black and blue gives Napoli a breather after the difficult period with losses to Torino and PSV:

" We faced an extraordinary team, for me the strongest in Italy. You don't reach two Champions League finals in three years for nothing. They have a formidable group. We won despite numerous injuries and De Bruyne's during the penalty shootout. It's not a very lucky year, maybe someone threw something at us... But Inter came here to 'kill' us sportingly. They were coming from an extraordinary form, we from two defeats. We had no intention of giving up and despite the difficulties, we gave a great response ."

Regarding the much-discussed penalty awarded for Mkhitaryan's foul on Di Lorenzo, Conte was blunt, sending a "thumbs up" to Inter and president Marota:

" That's the difference between Napoli and Inter. They send Marotta to speak, the others send managers. I speak for Napoli. A great team should analyse why it lost, not get caught up in these things. I would never allow a manager to speak in my place. For a president to then come out and make such comments... it means diminishing the figure of the coach. It's not fair. I have never asked my presidents to be 'fathers' for me, I have always defended myself ."

A strong and characterful response from Conte, who with this victory not only ends Napoli's crisis, but also puts himself and the team back in the title race with a clear message: this Napoli never gives up.
